“My first day was weird (as all first days are).”
What’s the idea behind your poster?
I found it really hard to find the words to describe my first day. Firstly, it was so long ago that it’s hard to remember the specifics, but also I was fairly nervous and so it kind of went into a blur. I remember things like feeling really self-conscious that I was either working too slow or that I was rushing things. I remember thinking I was either being too quiet or speaking too much. I remember I got a fruit sticker stuck in my hair. When I was trying to recall these things I came to the realization that first days are never easy, and being new in a workplace is a really weird experience. For this reason, I decided to keep it simple and make my piece about the strange experience that is being the new one in the office and did this through an experimental typographic exploration.
