“My initial contact with the studio was in the suburbs I was born and raised until I was 10. It was really strange for me to meet the guys I admired in my adult life in such a familiar space. The studio was doing a wayfinding project at the ‘Parque Novo Mundo’ neighborhood—through a signage system the government wanted to create a sense of unity and independence for the community.”
What’s the idea behind your poster?
The name of the neighborhood suggests utopias (New World Park/Heaven Zone), but the place itself is in a condition of precarity. That’s what I was intended to explore.
